Savy Responsive Web Platform

Savy is a responsive web platform that provides a variety of information about recycling and improve users recycling habits by teaching and inspiring them to do the right thing. This website would empower the activities of environmental groups and governments by giving them statistics on each province in Canada.

Project Role and Responsibilities as
UI and UX designer

Applied user-centered design process (UCD) and holistic analysis to build personas and scenarios supported by research.

Built UX and UI waste management feature from low fidelity wireframes to mockups and prototypes for user testing.

Built data content (geolocation, description, images) to support back-end and front-end development.

Researched international competitor to produce business, competitors and marketing strategies evaluation.

Produced marketing assets such as project's social media ads and printable posters with user guidelines and tips.

Was facilitator and worked in all documents related to the project from intermediates to final MVP business proposal.

Design Process

Emphasize and understand the problem of getting to know the rules about recycling process as new comers and ways to find trustful source of information. Researching and interviewing new comers regarding recycling activities and pain points, research websites and guidelines about recycling in Canada and other countries.

Define the problem, minimum scope, unique value preposition, fair advantages and success criteria thought a Lean Canvas.

Ideate brainstorming and sketching a key message and list of possible solutions designing personas and journeys analysing pain points.

Designing userflow, low fidelity wireframes and interactions while development team build rough IA structure and flow.

Review and reorganize schedule adjusting according to remain time and sources focusing in a safe defined deadline.

Implementation, checkup of SEO requirements, design requirements, testing in many devices as possible building a bug list.

Finalization and conclusion of all documentation related to the project including marketing and business material, business pitch and demos.

This is the MVP was produced in 11 weeks by a team of 4 developers and 6 designers for Capstone project at Langara College concluding WMDD post graduation course in April 2021. This project was nominated in Capstone Show Case Event by the panelists as "Best in Show" competed this place with other two extensive web and mobile projects.
